I have not fallen off the face of the earth! I am really sorry I haven't updated this in sooo long. I am long overdue. Because of this I am going to attempt to post a couple of brief posts hitting the high-lights of the past two weeks, those that I can remember at least! :-)
Here goes...first hurricane Hanna! We were hit with a lot of heavy rain and wind as a result of Hanna sweeping up the east coast. Most of the crazy weather took place in the middle of the night, but I woke up a few times to enjoy the rain, which continued until early afternoon. I have included a few pictures I took during the storm, nothing too exciting. A couple are the view from my porch - note the "stream" running along the ground in the second photo. The other two that are sort of blurry are of the local fauna - a couple of deer that frequent the complex.
Fortunately none of the other hurricanes affected us. In fact the weather here has gotten beautiful! I had heard that September and fall weather in general were excellent. This is certainly the case. The past couple of days have been like Portland in early or late summer - low humidity, cool evenings 50s/60s and 70s/80s during the day GORGEOUS!
More in the next post!
Peace!
